  • 60ml syringe
  • pH paper
  • Emesis basin (kidney dish)
  • Mike container/bag
  • Disposable gloves
  • Correct type and amount feeding formula
  • Alcohol swab
  • Drinking water
  • +/- infusion pump
  • +/- PPE

Points to note
  • Check placement before preparing formula
  • Prop up pt ~45 degree if no contraindications
  • Monitor flow rate and pt's condition constantly
  • Change position if no asp. gastric content
  • Poor digestion (nausea/vomiting/increased asp. Gastric content)
  • Asp. Coffee ground fluid
  • Assess pt's condition e.g. Vital signs
  • Record down all obs.
  • inform physician
